Tatarstan president arrives in Crimea for talks with Crimean Tatars leaders

KAZAN, March 05. /ITAR-TASS/. Tatarstan’s President Rustam Minnikhanov has arrived in Crimea, Autonomous Republic of Ukraine, to meet leaders of the Council of Ministers and Crimean Tatars, presidential spokesman Andrei Kuzmin told Itar-Tass.

“During a one-day trip, Minnikhanov is planning to meet the leadership of the Council of Ministers and Crimean Tatars,” Kuzmin said.

The autonomy’s government chairman, Sergei Aksenov, has welcomed Minnikhanov at the airport.

Ahead of the working trip to Crimea the Tatarstan president warned Crimean Tatars against unleashing conflicts with the Russian population of Crimea. He backed Tatarstan’s initiative to create a fund in support of Crimean residents.

Earlier, Tatarstan’s parliamentarians and Mufti Kamil Samigullin visited Crimea.
