TOKYO, March 03. /ITAR-TASS/. Japan is not planning to make any changes in an agenda of upcoming diplomatic events with Russia, Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga said on Monday.

“We’ve not made any changes in the agenda,” Suga said in a statement due to the situation in Ukraine.

Japanese Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida has to leave for Russia next month. Russian President Vladimir Putin is expected to make an official visit to Japan in the autumn 2014, the Japanese diplomat said.

Earlier, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said the conflict in Ukraine should be settled by peaceful means.

“Japan hopes that the situation in Ukraine will be settled by peaceful means,” Abe said, adding “Tokyo expects all parties to show restraint and responsibility, to comply with international agreements and respect Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.”
