Belarus' hopes for future as Ukraine seeks new government — Foreign Ministry

MINSK, February 27. /ITAR-TASS/. Belarus seeks good relations with Ukraine while a new government is being formed, compliant "with the principle of non-interference in the matters of other states”, Foreign Ministry spokesman Dmitry Mironchik said on Thursday.

A response is still awaited from Ukrainian authorities on the death of Belarusian citizen Mikhail Zhiznevsky during events in Kiev on January 22 and the incident in which a Belarusian bus carrying tourists was fired upon, Mironchik told Itar-Tass, adding that an investigation and inquiry had been requested.

No other events of this kind had been reported or requests received from Belarus citizens asking to be evacuated during normal operations at the embassy in Ukraine.
