BEIJING, February 27. /ITAR-TASS/. Chinese Defense Ministry spokesman Yang Yujun has confirmed Russian and Chinese navies will hold joint drills Naval Interaction-2014 in May-June.

The maneuvers will be held within the framework of the program of military exchanges approved by the two countries, Yang said. Details are being finalized.

China will also take part in the World Championship of Tank Biathlon due in Moscow’s suburb of Alabino from July 26 to August 16.

At present, 19 countries, including NATO member-states, confirmed their participation in the exercises.

The tank biathlon, which is analogous with the Olympic discipline, has been invented by the Russian military. The first tank biathlon with crews from Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus and Armenia took place outside Moscow last August.
