Ukrainian interior ministry reshuffled
Arsen Avakov will personally supervise the probe against a number of regional police chiefs
KIEV, February 25. /ITAR-TASS/. Ukraine's Interior Ministry said several top officials have been replaced, including the head of public security department Alexander Tulayev, the police chiefs of Kiev, Dnepropetrovsk, Zakarpatye, and Cherkassk regions and the head of the state road police service.
The authorized representative for control over Ukrainian Interior Ministry, Arsen Avakov, ordered an investigation against a number of regional police chiefs, suspected of “disciplinary offenses and exceeding and abusing their office powers”, the Ministry's press service said.
The investigation is handled by a commission of 29 staff of the main headquarters, the departments for human resources, legal support, internal security and public security and the main investigation department.
“Avakov will personally supervise the probe,” the Interior Ministry said.
