Right-wing opposition pulls down monument to Lenin in Ukraine’s Zhitomir

KIEV, February 21, 7:32 /ITAR-TASS/. Tass) - Representatives of radical movement Right Sector pulled down the monument to Soviet leader Lenin at the house of justice on Cathedral Square in the north-western Ukrainian city of Zhitomir overnight to Friday. Around 400 people participated in an act of vandalism, demolishment of the monument was broadcast live on TV channel 24.
Radical protesters needed several hours to bring down the monument from the bottom. Many city residents were watching destruction of the monument.
Extremists pulled down the monument to Lenin on Bessarabskaya Square in Kiev on December 8.
