No heart ultrasonic scanning on ill Russian pilot jailed in US
Konstantin Yaroshenko has been suffering from heart pain for more than two weeks
NEW YORK, February 18. /ITAR-TASS/. Heavily ill Russian pilot Konstantin Yaroshenko, serving a 20-year jail term in the United States on drug trafficking attempt charges, is denied urgent medical aid. Authority of Fort Dix prison in New Jersey promised to make an ultrasonic scanning on heart of Yaroshenko currently in state of preinfarction angina.
“Ultrasonic scanning of other organs was made instead,” Yaroshenko’s U.S. lawyer Alexey Tarasov told Itar-Tass on Tuesday.
“Despite official protests from Russian side humiliation continues. No urgent qualified medical aid is given to the Russian with symptoms of acute heart attack,” the lawyer said.
Konstantin Yaroshenko has been suffering from heart pain for more than two weeks. He is still having running temperature. “He was obviously stifling from want of air,” the lawyer said.
Konstantin Yaroshenko was convicted in the U.S. on September 7, 2011. He was extradited to the U.S. from Liberia, where he was arrested on May 28, 2010. Undercover agents of U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration have allegedly proved his criminal plans to deliver a large batch of cocaine.
