Iranian Foreign Minister calls Holocaust ‘a horrible tragedy’

BERLIN, February 03, (ITAR-TASS). Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, who is making a visit to Germany, has condemned the mass extermination of Jews by the Hitlerite regime.

As he spoke to the Phoenix TV channel, he said it was a horrible tragedy that was not to be repeated ever again.

The interview was shot in the super-fashionable Adlon Kempinski hotel, which is located in the immediate vicinity of the memorial to the slain Jews of Europe.

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Hassan Rouhani’s predecessor in the presidential office in Teheran called the very fact and the scale of the Holocaust into question in his public speeches many a time, thus inviting sharp criticism on the part of the international community.
