TOKYO, February 03. /ITAR-TASS/. Japan’s Prime Minister Shinzo Abe says he will look to development of trust relations with Russia’s President Vladimir Putin in the interests of further development of mutual relations. At a meeting featuring the government and ruling parties in Tokyo he said he hoped for a meeting with the Russian leader in Sochi. The prime minister will attend the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympic Games.

“I would like to use the opportunity to improve the personal trust relations with the president,” Abe said. “I would like to have a meeting with him aimed at progress of a peace agreement and development of the entire complex of the Japanese-Russian relations.”

Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has been working actively on improvement of the dialogue with Russia. A year earlier, he had four meetings with President Putin, including that during his visit to Moscow in last April. Despite of the busy schedule during the current parliamentary session, Shinzo Abe on February 7 will come to Sochi to attend the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympic Games there.
