KIEV, January 31. /ITAR-TASS/. Acting Foreign Minister Leonid Kozhara will take part in discussions on the situation in Ukraine at the Munich Security Conference, Foreign Ministry spokesman Yevgeny Perebeynos told Itar-Tass.

“The minister will take part in a meeting entitled ‘Global Forces and Regional Stability in Central and Eastern Europe’. Much attention will be riveted to the situation in Ukraine,” the spokesman said.

Kozhara will also have several bilateral meetings, the diplomat said, adding that the meetings with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry were being prepared now.

Kozhara said on Thursday, January 30, that he would meet U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon at the Munich Security Conference on February 1 to discuss the situation in Ukraine.

At a meeting with foreign ambassadors on Thursday, Kozhara said President Viktor Yanukovich had conferred with U.N. Special Envoy Robert Serry on January 29. “The meeting was very useful,” the Ukrainian minister said.

On January 27, during the telephone conversation with Yanukovich, the U.N. Secretary-General said he was ready to send his envoy to Ukraine in order to take part in a dialogue on the political settlement in the country.
