European commissioner to hold talks with Ukrainian foreign minister, opposition in Munich

February 1, the European commission will meet Klitschko and Kozhara on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference

BRUSSELS, January 31. /ITAR-TASS/. European Commissioner for the Enlargement and Neighborhood Policy Stefan Fule will hold talks with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Leonid Kozhara and leader of the opposition party “UDAR” (Ukrainian Democratic Alliance for Reform) Vitali Klitschko at the Munich Security Conference, Fule’s spokesman, Peter Stano, told Itar-Tass.

February 1, the European commission will meet Klitschko and Kozhara on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference to discuss the settlement of the political crisis in Ukraine and ways to overcome it, Stano said.

Fule visited Kiev twice to hold talks with the Ukrainian government and the opposition. During the latest visit, the European commissioner met Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovich. The visit lasted for a week and ended on January 29.

About 20 heads of state and government, over 50 foreign and defense ministers, businessmen and scientists, and human rights activists from all round the world will take part in the Munich Security Conference due to open later in the day. Russia will be represented by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

The Munich Conference will focus on the settlement of the conflict in Syria and political confrontation in Ukraine, as well as Iran’s nuclear program.
