Delegation of Syria's National Coalition to visit Moscow for consultations

However, no exact date of the visit has been specified so far

GENEVA, January 29. /ITAR-TASS/. A delegation of Syria's National Coalition is expected to visit Moscow for consultations before the end of February, Burhan Ghalioun, an official spokesperson for the Syrian National Council told Itar-Tass Wednesday.

He recalled that the coalition made a promise two weeks ago in the process of discussing the schedule for the Geneva II conference that its representatives would visit Moscow sometime in February.

However, no exact date of the visit has been specified so far, Ghalioun said, adding he did not think the visit could take place before the next round of talks between the parties to the Syrian conflict.

Ghalioun recalled a plan drawn up by the special envoy of the United Nations and the Arab League, Lakhdar Brahimi, under the terms of which the Syrian parties should leave Geneva after January 31 for consultations and then return to Switzerland for a resumption of the talks.
