Disorders in Kiev leave functioning of Black Sea Fleet in Crimea unaffected

SEVASTOPOL, January 23. /ITAR-TASS/. Disorders in Kiev did not affect Crimea and had no impact on the functioning of the Russian Black Sea Fleet, spokesman to the Black Sea Fleet, Captain I Rank Vyacheslav Trukhachev told Itar-Tass.

“There are no complications for the normal functioning of the Russian Fleet in Crimea. We work as usual,” Trukhachev said.

On Wednesday, January 22, deputies of the Sevastopol city council made an address to Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovich. They called for taking measures “to preserve the country’s territorial integrity and protect the constitutional system”.

Head of the Sevastopol city administration Vladimir Yatsuba said he was grateful to Berkut special task forces officers, who had served in Kiev.

“I want to thank Sevastopol Berkut officers, who are serving now in Kiev. Now the authorities’ priority is to preserve peace and stability in Ukraine. Our president will have enough wisdom to cease bloodshed and prevent the country from the civil war,” Yatsuba said.
