Iranian President: Geneva II participants should contribute to Syrian peace efforts

TEHRAN, January 23. /ITAR-TASS/. Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said the participants in the Geneva II Peace Conference should “contribute to realising the peace aspirations in Syria”, IRNA News Agency reported on Thursday.
At the World Economic Forum currently underway in Davos the Iranian president said, “We’ve always said and say that the Syrian people thirsts for peace. The Syrian problem can’t be solved by force.”
“The fight against terrorism is the region’s common cause. The expansion of the activity of terrorists does not meet any interests,” he said.
Commenting on the Geneva agreements on Iran’s nuclear dossier, Rouhani said, “We intend to fulfil all obligations whether our opponents do the same.
