However, Syrian Information Minister Omran al-Zouabi said all issues should be discussed by talks

MONTREUX, January 22. /ITAR-TASS/. Damascus disagrees with several points of the Geneva Communiqué and everything should be discussed by talks, Syrian Information Minister Omran al-Zouabi said on Wednesday.

“We have pretensions to certain provisions of the Geneva I document,” al-Zouabi said.

However, the minister said all issues should be discussed by talks.

“We’ve heard positive words at the conference, including from Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov who called for resolving the Syrian conflict by peaceful means,” he said, adding “Representatives of other states, which uphold international terrorism, Al Qaeda, first of all Saudi Arabia, also take part in the forum.”

“We’ll fight this,” the Syrian minister said.

“It’s the Syrian people who will decide if Bashar al-Assad is Syria’s president,” al-Zouabi said replying to a question if he is sure the incumbent Syrian president wins next elections.
