There is no point in being carried away by mutual accusations at the Geneva II conference, and propagandist statements, as well as generality on Syrian events must be avoided. Such a view expressed French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius on Wednesday at the international forum in Montreux.

“The conference shouldn’t become an advantageous occasion to gain time for someone,” he stressed.

“It must be also avoided to deliver speeches spangled with ‘terrorism’ term without having analyzed its origin, since it would not allow us to find sustainable resources to put an end to this phenomenon,” French foreign minister noted.

Laurent Fabius added that at the Geneva II conference, it ought to strive for signing an agreement on an interim government endued with all the necessary executive powers. “Such a government should be formed on the basis of mutual consent of the parties,” the minister stressed.
