MONTREUX, January 22. /ITAR-TASS/. Progress in eliminating chemical weapons will help the work of the Geneva II Peace Conference, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said at the Geneva II Conference on Syria currently underway in Montreux.
“We praise cooperation between the Syrian government and the OPCW (Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons) and the United Nations Organisation,” Lavrov said.
“Progress in the process and the implementation of the agreements on Iran’s nuclear program will make real contribution to promoting an idea on creating a nuclear-free zone in the Middle East,” the Russian minister said.
