KIEV, January 21. /ITAR-TASS/. The number of Ukrainian police hurt in clashes with rioters in Grushevsky Street in central Kiev has risen to 119, an Interior Ministry official told Itar-Tass on Tuesday, adding that 80 of them have been taken to hospital.

"The police suffered cranial injures, fractures, burns, stabs and slashes and poisoning with unidentified substances," the source said.

Protesters in Grushevsky Street are using various means to break through the police cordon to the government and parliament buildings.

They stoned police and used homemade incendiary compounds. "Some of these Molotov cocktails found their targets as photos should several police officers on fire," the Interior Ministry official added.

On Monday, January 20, protesters repeatedly launched fireworks at police.
