"No one will be able to make Syria waive its sovereignty," Syrian Foreign Minister stated

BEIRUT, December 30, 15:08 /ITAR-TASS/. A delegation of Syrian government will do everything for the "conference in Geneva to end with results that will be in the interests of the Syrian people," Syrian Minister of Foreign Affairs Walid Muallem said during a meeting with media people in Damascus, the Al-Watan news service reports on Monday.

"No one will be able to make Syria waive its sovereignty. The opposition must get rid of illusions that power will be turned over to them by the Geneva conference," he emphasized. "We go there (to Geneva) in order to see who of the oppositionists comes out against foreign interference, rejects terrorism, and is ready to participate in building the country's future," the Syrian Minister pointed out.

"Our purpose is together with other Syrian participants in the conference to work out a roadmap of the future of Syria, the roadmap which will be approved by the Syrian people," Muallem said. Should the conference in Geneva fails, the Minister said, "the national dialogue will be conducted under Syrian sky in accordance with the Syrian government-suggested program for political transformations".
