BANGKOK, December 26. /ITAR-TASS /. The election committee of Thailand has addressed the country’s government on Thursday with a request to postpone the election to the National Assembly (parliament) from February 2 to a subsequent date.

“The vote should be postponed until the parties involved in this conflict overcome their differences,” the election committee said in a statement.

Earlier the head of this agency already addressed the government with a proposal to postpone the parliamentary election, however, he was refused.

Meanwhile, clashes between police and opposition supporters continue in Bangkok. Number of aggrieved in clashes in the capital of Thailand near the Thai-Japanese friendship Stadium on Thursday increased to 32 people, the country’s Public Healthcare Ministry reports.

The state agency said that one oppositionist has been hospitalized in critical condition with a head wound. The major part of hospitalized demonstrators was aggrieved by tear gas and rubber projectiles, which were used by the police during the clashes.

Governmental law enforcement center reported that three police officers were brought to hospital. According to available data, one of them has a gunshot wound in the shoulder. Police says that the demonstrators are using firearms. Another two police officers were hurt by tear gas: the demonstrators throw canisters with gas back to the police.
