- March 5, 2013, President of Venezuela Hugo Chavez died at the age of 58.
- March 23, 2013, Russian oligarch Boris Berezovsky, who lived in London, died at 68. He was born in Moscow on January 23, 1946. In 2000, he emigrated in Britain.
- April 8, 2013, former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher died of stroke at the age of 87 years.
- In April, Deanna Durbin, Canadian singer and actress, who appeared in a number of musical films in the 1930s and 1940s, passed away. On April 30, 2013, a newsletter published by the Deanna Durbin Society reported that Durbin died "in the past few days", quoting her son. According to AP reports, she passed away on or about April 20.
- June 20, 2013, American actor James Gandolfini best known for his role as Tony Soprano in TV series ‘The Sopranos’ died at the age of 51 during a vacation in Rome. Autopsy confirmed that the actor died of heart attack.
