WARSAW, December 18. /ITAR-TASS/. Former Polish president Lech Walesa believes that leader of Ukraine’s opposition Udar party (Punch), boxing champion Vitaly Klitschko does not fit the role of his country’s leader.

“Ukraine cannot be ruled as a battle in the boxing ring,” he said in an interview with the Polish newspaper Rzeczpospolita on Wednesday. “I do not see that Klitschko is ready to rule. If he gets power on the street, he will also lose it fast. The street will bring him to power and the street will deprive him of power.”

Polish ex-president said he saw the way out of the crisis in Ukraine in searching for a compromise. “Ukraine will not be changed through the use of force. Let roundtable meetings take place, dialogue should be there and wise politicians should resolve everything,” Walesa said.

He expressed an opinion that Ukraine would not go through a revolution. “Ukraine’s authorities cannot be overthrown through non-democratic means, because the existing democracy that is subjected to criticism is after all, the achievement of the Ukrainian people,” Walesa said, expressing confidence that Ukraine had no political force that could seize power. “I do not see any big social movement, any party or organization that could seize power.
