Ukraine’s President Viktor Yanukovich pledged to help release the rally participants that have been arrested in connection with mass unrest during protest manifestations in Kiev November 30 and December 1. This said Ukraine’s ex-president Leonid Kravchuk to ‘112’ TV broadcaster.

“Such an agreement has been reached during today’s meeting of four presidents,” Kravchuk said.

Kravchuk met in the first half of the day with Yanukovich, as well as with ex-leaders Leonid Kuchma and Viktor Yushchenko.

Viktor Yanukovich demanded to “give a fair assessment of the offenses”, which took place during the protests on Independence Square in Kiev.
