Ruling party accuses opposition of seizing power attempts

Ukraine's ruling Party of Regions is stating that "the dramatic events of the recent several days demonstrated in all obviousness the criminal intentions of political opposition forces and their readiness to start an active phase of a use-of-force scenario aimed at seizing power," said the party's statement for the media, circulated on Tuesday night.

Recalling the seizure of a number of office buildings, including those of the Kiev City Council and the House of Trade Unions by "opposition extremists", the party's members believe that the "purposeful actions" are being performed in the country step by step. Those actions can be qualified as a coup attempt".
