KIEV, December 04, 6:19 /ITAR-TASS/. Ukraine's ruling Party of Regions is stating that "the dramatic events of the recent several days demonstrated in all obviousness the criminal intentions of political opposition forces and their readiness to start an active phase of a use-of-force scenario aimed at seizing power," said a Regionals' statement for the media, circulated on Tuesday night.

Recalling the seizure of a number of office buildings, including those of the Kiev City Council and the House of Trade Unions by "opposition extremists", the Regionals believe that the "purposeful actions" are being performed in the country step by step. Those actions can nr qualified as a coup attempt".

The Party of Regions is particularly struck by "the unceremonious insistence with which the coupists seek to shake off responsibility for the organization of sanguinary provocations, the use of semi-criminal extremist toughs in storming the office buildings, and for the harsh confrontation with the personnel of law enforcement agencies".

In view of this, the Party of Regions applies to the Office of Prosecutor-General "in a demand for it to give an impartial legal evaluation of the facts of the seizure of office buildings, anti-constitutional actions of local self-government representative bodies of Ukraine's western regions, which encroach on the territorial integrity of the State and incite interregional enmity and deliberately sabotage the decisions of the central bodies of power".
