Ukraine's parliament considers motion of no confidence in Cabinet

As many as 226 votes in the 450-strong parliament are required to pass the motion

KIEV, December 03. /ITAR-TASS/. The Ukrainian parliament is considering the motion of no confidence in the government of Prime Minister Nikolai Azarov, initiated by the opposition.

The opposition is outraged by violent events on Kiev’s independence Square, where dozens of people were injured when riot police was dispersing protesters overnight to November 30. Many people were detained. The opposition accused the authorities in power and demanded to punish those responsible and sack the government of Nikolai Azarov.

Members of the Cabinet of Ministers and the prime minister have arrived to the session. As many as 226 votes in the 450-strong parliament are required to pass the motion.

Ukrainian Prime Minister Nikolai Azarov has apologized in the parliament for the use of force against protesters on Kiev’s Independence Square.
