BANGKOK, December 3. /ITAR-TASS /. Thai opposition announced its victory over the government after the country's leadership in Bangkok allowed protesters to approach the government house and the headquarters of the metropolitan police, pulling down the barrier.

“The victory is ours after long battles and protests,” one of the leaders of the anti-government movement Sathit Uongnongtoy said. Demonstrators approached the entry to the government house, unopposed by the police. It is expected that the gates will be open in the afternoon.

Entrance to the police headquarters is fully open, but the opposition is not in a hurry to go inside, apparently fearing a possible trap by law enforcement agencies.

Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra gave an order to the police to let the protesters approach the government house, which they tried to storm within two days. She warned the opposition of their responsibility for possible destructions and damage to public property.

Head of the city police suggested the protesters to remain near the building of the police headquarters in Bangkok as long as they needed, but warned them against use of violence.

Over the square of the Monument to democracy, where protesters also gathered in the morning, a helicopter urging protesters to go home is cruising around.

According to Bangkok’s administration, December 2, during the clashes between protesters and the police 119 people were injured, no casualties reported.
