Tajikistan’s president appoints his son head of customs service

DUSHANBE, November 30, 11:52 /ITAR-TASS/. Tajikistan’s President Emomali Rakhmon dismissed Head of the Customs Service Gurez Zaripov and appointed his junior son Rustam Emomali.

Experts say Rustam Emomali, 26, may take over the presidency. Emomali Rakhmon has been running the country since 1992. Following results of the election on November 6, he took the office for the fourth time. Under the constitution, his presidential term will continue for seven years.
