VILNIUS, November 29. /ITAR-TASS/. Russia’s inclusion in the talks on the setting up of an association between the EU and Ukraine is fully unacceptable, European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso said Friday upon the end of a summit meeting of the EU’s so-called Eastern Partnership format.

The case in hand is a bilateral agreement between the EU and Ukraine and there is no way for a third party to get involved in these talks, he said, adding that the EU cannot admit of a possibility of vetoing on the part of a third country.

However, he indicated that trilateral talks involving the EU, Ukraine and Russia on separate problems of the energy sector, including energy security were possible.

The EU might consider discussions in selected spheres like the economy, trade or energy sector and it is ready to talks with Ukraine about these issues but any inclusion of Moscow in the talks on association is totally out of question, Barroso said.
