South Korea urges DPRK and Iran to follow demand for curbing nuclear programs
South Korea welcomes Iran's decision to sign an agreement with six world powers
SEOUL, November 25. /ITAR-TASS/. The government of the Republic of Korea has welcomed with satisfaction the deal on Iran’s right to enrich uranium, which was signed between the P5+1 (the UN Security Council’s five permanent members plus Germany) and Tehran, a representative of South Korea’s foreign ministry said on Monday.
“Now both Pyongyang and Tehran should follow the demands from the international community for curbing the programs on production of nuclear weapons,” the diplomat said.
The South Korean foreign ministry stressed once again the DPRK should follow its obligations under the joint statement of September 19, 2005 and the UN Security Council’s resolutions.
The document was adopted at the fourth round of the six-sided negotiations over denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula, which feature South Korea, North Korea, the US, China, Russia and Japan.
