LONDON, November 17. /ITAR-TASS /. In Libya, unidentified men kidnapped the deputy head of the country’s intelligence services Mustafa Noah, Reuters news agency reported quoting sources in security services of the country.
According to reports, the kidnapping occurred in Tripoli’s international airport, where Mustafa Noah arrived from Turkey on Sunday noon. When the law enforcement official came out of the airport, unknown forced him into their car and escaped. Reports say that Noah was traveling without bodyguards.
The Libyan government hasn’t issued any official confirmation of these reports yet.
State of emergency
The headquarters of Libyan formations of rebels that is subordinate to the General National Congress, Libya’s parliament, has introduced the state of emergency for 48 hours in Tripoli, Libya’s capital. According to the reports coming from Tripoli, the authorities have taken this step to stop bloodshed between the law enforcement agencies and the Eagles of Misrata armed militants, who refuse to withdraw their militants from the city.
As many as 45 people were killed and 460 people were injured in the clashes in central Tripoli's district of Gargur during the past day.
On Sunday, Tripoli went on a 3-day general strike, which also pursues the goal to stop bloodshed, the TV channel Al Jazeera reported.
Libyan Prime Minister Ali Zeidan urged the former revolutionaries to refrain from sending armed units in the city that “may result in massacre.
