Russian signer Grigory Leps says he has no bank accounts or property in the US
The U.S. Department of the Treasury put Grigory Lepsveridze, widely known under his stage name of Grigory Leps, on its black list
MOSCOW, November 15, /ITAR-TASS/. Russian singer Grigory Leps told a news conference in Moscow on Friday that he did not have property or bank accounts in the United States.
The singer’s daughter is currently studying in the United States. “She has not had any problems so far. FBI employees have not come to her. I myself send her about 3,000 dollars a month. She does not have any bank accounts in the United States,” Leps said.
“My daughter is studying in a school of actor’s mastery in the United States. I do not know what’s going to happen to her next. Her visa is expiring soon. That is why she will have to return to Russia to extend it,” the singer went on to say.
The U.S. Department of the Treasury put Grigory Lepsveridze, widely known under his stage name of Grigory Leps, on its black list. He is suspected of being a member of the Eurasian criminal syndicate Brothers’ Circle.
The U.S. authorities have banned Leps from entering the United States and have arrested the singer’s U.S. bank accounts.
The sanctions against Leps have aroused protest and bewilderment in Russia.
