Russian tourist hospitalized in Indonesia after wandering six days in Java wilderness

BANGKOK, August 15 (Itar-Tass) - The Russian tourist who had disappeared in Indonesia several days ago was picked up on Mount Merapi on Thursday, August 15, and taken to hospital for rehabilitation, Russian Embassy in Indonesia said.
“As far as we know he is in ‘satisfactory’ condition and is fully conscious. He has been identified as Yevgeny Luchin as was reported before,” the embassy’s spokesperson Dmitry Solodov told ITAR-TASS.
Luchin, 25, of Voronezh, a city in Central Russia, disappeared when climbing Java’s largest active volcano Merapi six days ago. On Saturday, August 10, he sent an SMS to his girlfriend, asking for help. Rescuers found him only on August 15.
