Russian EMERCOM sends plane to Austria to airlift sick man home

The man from the Russian city of Cherepovets developed acute infarction while on vacation in Austria

MOSCOW, July 17 (Itar-Tass) - The Russian ministry for emergency situations (EMERCOM) has sent a plane to Vienna to airlift a Russian citizen back home for treatment, EMERCOM spokeswoman Irina Rosius told Itar-Tass.

The man from the Russian city of Cherepovets developed acute infarction while on vacation in Austria. He was hospitalized, but a decision has been made to transport the sick man back to Russia, the spokeswoman said.

The AN-148 equipped with special medical modules has left for Vienna from Ramenskoye airport at 10.00 am Wednesday. Six doctors from Tsentrospas ( Rescue Center) and the All- Russian Center for Disaster Medicine are on board, she said.

The 60-year-old man will be brought to a hospital under the Cherepovets metal production plant.
