MOSCOW, April 17 (Itar-Tass) – Russian experts can examine the remains of Venezuela’s late President Hugo Chavez for the presence of poisonous substances in his body but they have not received any instructions on this so far, Vladimir Uiba, the director of the Federal Medical & Biological Agency told reporters Wednesday.

“If anyone on this planet really has the capability for doing this, then it’s us,” he said with reference to the highest qualification of Russian experts and the high-precision equipment installed in the Russian laboratories.

“However, we didn’t get any instructions on this,” Uiba said. “Still our researchers are prepared to do the job” if they get an appropriate instruction.

Venezuelan authorities said in mid-March they were going to launch an official investigation of the death of Commandante Hugo Chavez, who died March 6 after two years of intense struggle with cancer.
