"It will continue because the country is huge. And democracy provokes acts of terror," leader of the Liberal Democratic Party /LDPR/ Vladimir Zhirinovsky said

MOSCOW, April 16 (Itar-Tass) – Leader of the Liberal Democratic Party /LDPR/ Vladimir Zhirinovsky said he believes the United States is facing more acts of terror. "It will continue because the country is huge. And democracy provokes acts of terror," he said.

It is difficult to counteract terrorist attacks, for example because of people's right to freedom of movement. "You can't possibly close all cities. A suicide bomber is the most terrible thing; they cannot be stopped at all," he noted.

The LDPR leader expressed bewilderment over how police can possibly stop a suicide bomber who is taking part in a marathon. He'll strap explosives to himself in a locker room, and a metal detector won't be used on 40,000 marathon runners. So he'll blow himself up halfway," Zhirinovsky said.

Three persons, including an eight-year-old child, died in two explosions in central Boston on Monday, not far away from the finish line of the international Boston marathon, and more than 140 people were injured, according to the Boston Globe which referred to reports from eight hospitals. Surgery to amputate limbs was performed on 10 persons.

The Boston Marathon has been held on Patriots' Day since 1897. It reportedly attracts half-million spectators and some 20,000 participants every year.
