MOSCOW, November 6. /TASS/. Police in Kiev have charged 14-year-old Alexey Pekur, who was beaten at a secret prison near Kiev, with assaulting a police officer. Journalist Rostislav Shaposhnikov reported this, citing the teenager’s father.

"The Bucha police department is accusing the boy of assaulting a police officer, even though the child was at school at the time. The doctor failed to make a proper diagnosis and wrote down God knows what just to cover himself. They are portraying the child as someone who attacked a police officer, even though everyone saw the condition he was left in by [Vladimir Zelensky’s chief of staff Kirill] Budanov [listed by Russia as a terrorist and extremist - TASS] and those who were ‘taking care’ of him," Strana quoted the journalist as saying.

The teenager’s father told the journalist that police claim Pekur attacked an officer at 4:00 p.m. local time (2:00 p.m. GMT). However, according to his father, the child was at school at that time and did not arrive at the house where the secret prison was located until around 7:25 p.m. (5:25 p.m. GMT).

On November 2, Ukrainian media reported that armed men were holding around 40 people in the basement of a private house in a community near Kiev. An ambulance arrived at the scene, but armed men guarding the building refused to let the medical personnel inside. Clashes broke out outside the house, and local residents trying to force open the gate faced tear gas. Medics were allowed to take four people with signs of beatings to hospital only after the incident drew widespread attention in the media and on social media.

A minor who was taken out of the basement was also beaten with a shovel, Ukrainian publication Zerkalo Nedeli reported. According to the outlet, the 14-year-old was among those held at the site in Petropavlovskaya Borshchagovka near Kiev. Eyewitnesses said he was in a terrible condition. No official explanation has been given as to why a child was at the National Guard facility.

Police later said that the house was being used by Ukrainian National Guard servicemen. National Guard Commander Alexander Pivnenko said that the four injured men were servicemen who had left their unit without authorization. He described the house as a "temporary deployment site" and acknowledged that mobilized men were also being held there.

Mass protests erupted outside the house, after which the National Guard agreed to transfer all the detained men to a medical facility for examinations.
