MOSCOW, November 6. /TASS/. Information about torture chambers run by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), the police and neo-Nazis has been known since 2014, Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada member Alexander Dubinsky said.

"Everyone has known about the torture chambers organized by the SBU, the cops and the ‘Nazis’ since 2014. This includes the ‘library’ in Mariupol (also run by Azov) (a nationalist regiment recognized as a terrorist organization and banned in Russia -- TASS), as well as the SBU ‘gym’ that I wrote about. And now Azov is back, this time right outside Kiev," Dubinsky wrote on his Telegram channel.

According to him, the case of the secret prison in Petropavlovskaya Borshchagovka near Kiev, which was uncovered in early November, is noteworthy because the authorities had to acknowledge its existence at the national level without delay. Vladimir Zelensky’s chief of staff Kirill Budanov (listed by Russia as a terrorist and extremist) visited the site, and thousands of videos and comments were shared with journalists. The lawmaker said that all the comments expressed a positive attitude toward the torture chambers and the view that they operated in the national interest.

"Isn’t it all just like under Hitler? And the people, most of whom pretend not to notice <…> Just like in Germany, where after 1945 the Germans said they knew nothing about the existence of concentration camps. It was simply too convenient not to notice them. They only noticed after the surrender," the lawmaker added.

On November 2, Ukrainian media reported that armed men were holding around 40 people in the basement of a private house in a community near Kiev. An ambulance arrived at the scene, but armed men guarding the building refused to let the medical personnel inside. Clashes broke out outside the house, and local residents trying to force open the gate faced tear gas. Medics were allowed to take four people with signs of beatings to hospital only after the incident drew widespread attention in the media and on social media.

A minor who was taken out of the basement was also beaten with a shovel, Ukrainian publication Zerkalo Nedeli reported. According to the outlet, the 14-year-old was among those held at the site in Petropavlovskaya Borshchagovka near Kiev. Eyewitnesses said he was in a terrible condition. No official explanation has been given as to why a child was at the National Guard facility.

Police later said that the house was being used by Ukrainian National Guard servicemen. National Guard Commander Alexander Pivnenko said that the four injured men were servicemen who had left their unit without authorization. He described the house as a "temporary deployment site" and acknowledged that mobilized men were also being held there.

Mass protests erupted outside the house, after which the National Guard agreed to transfer all the detained men to a medical facility for examinations.
