Russia, Ukraine worked diligently to carry out Alyoshki mission — US First Lady
The humanitarian mission took place on October 30
WASHINGTON, November 5. /TASS/. The Russian and Ukrainian authorities worked diligently to organize a humanitarian mission in the town of Alyoshki in the Kherson Region, US First Lady Melania Trump said at a White House event attended by special envoy and Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) CEO Kirill Dmitriev and Russian human rights commissioner Yana Lantratova.
"Humanitarian, military, and government officials from Russia and Ukraine worked diligently to coordinate every aspect of the operation," she noted.
Earlier, Russia and Ukraine, with the assistance of the US First Lady, agreed to a ceasefire in Alyoshki in the Kherson Region to facilitate the humanitarian operation. Starting at 4:00 a.m. Moscow time (1:00 a.m. GMT) on October 27, the Russian Armed Forces implemented a ceasefire in the Kherson area in preparation for the operation. On October 30, the humanitarian mission took place. Residents were provided with several dozen tons of aid, including food, hygiene supplies, fuel for generators, and other essential items, Lantratova said. In addition, anyone who wished to do so was able to leave unhindered, either to Russia or to Ukraine.
On September 21, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov described the humanitarian situation in Alyoshki as critical. Due to Kiev’s shelling and drone attacks, it was impossible to deliver either food or medicine to the city.
