Outcome of US midterms unlikely to affect situation around Ukraine — analyst
"I don’t think there’ll be any significant change," blogger Andrew Napolitano said
WASHINGTON, November 4. /TASS/. The results of the November 3 midterm election in the United States will hardly affect the situation around Ukraine, US Conservative analyst and blogger Andrew Napolitano said in an interview with TASS
"I don’t think that the election - even if the Democrats win both houses - will have a measurable effect on the US and Ukraine. Iran is another story," said the politician, who is the host of Judging Freedom, a popular Conservative podcast. "But in terms of Ukraine, I don’t think there’ll be any significant change," Napolitano, once a long-term Fox News analyst, reiterated.
"I don’t think the Congress will affect anything with respect to Ukraine, unfortunately, because Russophobia is rampant in the Congress amongst Republicans and Democrats," he emphasized.
"There is far more likely to be an impairment of Trump’s ability to wage war against Iran than it is for Trump to provide any assistance for [Vladimir] Zelensky," Napolitano argued.
Only 35 out of 100 Senate seats and all 435 seats in the House were contested on Tuesday when a gubernatorial election across 36 states was also held. The ruling Republican party currently holds control of both houses. The next, 120th Congress, that will be crafted by the results of the midterms, will hold its formal opening session on January 3, 2027.
