UK electronic intelligence aircraft spotted over Black Sea first time since September
The aircraft has been flying over the waters since 9:40 a.m. Moscow time
MOSCOW, November 3. /TASS/. A UK Royal Air Force (RAF) electronic intelligence aircraft has been spotted over the neutral waters of the Black Sea for the first time since late September, a source in air traffic control services told TASS.
"The Boeing RC-135W Rivet Joint aircraft flew to the Black Sea from RAF Waddington airfield in Britain, after which it began flying over the central part of the sea from west to east and back, without entering the airspace of any country," the source said. He noted that the last time an aircraft of this type flew in the area was in late September. "The aircraft is currently continuing its mission at an altitude of about 10 km," the source noted.
According to him, a US-registered NATO reconnaissance aircraft, the Bombardier Artemis II - which is permanently based at the airfield in Constanta, Romania - is also currently flying over the Black Sea, but further south. "The aircraft has been flying over the waters since 9:40 a.m. Moscow time (6:40 a.m. GMT) and is also moving from west to east and back; its flight altitude is about 11 km," the source said.
