DOHA, November 2. /TASS/. Houthi rebels from Yemen’s Ansar Allah movement have carried out drone strikes on airports in the eastern Saudi city of Dammam and the southern city of Jazan, Houithi military spokesperson Yahia Saria said.

"Over the past 48 hours, <...> [our forces] targeted Dammam airport with two drones," he wrote on Telegram. According to Saria, the Houthis also struck an early warning radar in Jazan and a military transport aircraft at the city’s airport.

An armed conflict between the Houthis and Saudi-backed government forces has been going on in Yemen since August 2014. In July 2026, the rebels declared a naval blockade of Saudi Arabia and attacked several of the country’s oil tankers. The Ansar Allah movement also launched an offensive in early August, taking control of the port city of Mocha and areas along the Bab-el-Mandeb Strait. On October 4, Yemen’s government forces announced the launch of a large-scale military operation to retake territories controlled by the rebels.
