Iran-US mediated dialogue proceeds actively, everything depends on US — Iranian minister
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi reiterated that full-scale negotiations could only be resumed after Iran’s terms regarding the opening of the Strait of Hormuz were fully met
TEHRAN, November 2. /TASS/. The Qatar-and Pakistan-mediated consultations between Iran and the United States are proceeding at a very intense pace; everything depends on Washington's political will, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said.
"Consultations via mediators are quite intense. We have presented out terms and a roadmap and now everything depends on Washington’s political desire. If they opt for honest diplomacy, we are ready to work. But if they have deceit and military action in mind, they will receive a harsher and more severe response than ever before," he told the IRNA agency during his visit to Turkmenistan.
The top Iranian diplomat once again stressed that full-scale negotiations can only be resumed after Iran’s terms regarding the opening of the Strait of Hormuz are fully met. "Otherwise, the current situation will continue and Iran will never back down," he added.
