MOSCOW, October 30. /TASS/. Russia has always stood on the side of Africa and helped it overcome difficulties, Ghana’s President John Dramani Mahama stated during a meeting with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin.

"Russia has always stood by Africa and helped it navigate challenging times," he said. "We appreciate this. The third Russia-Africa summit, held in Moscow, will further deepen the relationship between Russia and Africa." As an example, the Ghanaian president cited Russia’s assistance in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic in Africa. "Russia supplied the Sputnik vaccine to the continent," he noted. "We appreciate that."

Mahama recalled that Moscow was among the first to recognize Ghana’s independence. "Since then, our relations have only grown stronger," the Ghanaian leader declared.
