MOSCOW, October 30. /TASS/. Sudan is grateful to Russia for its steadfast backing on international platforms, particularly in the face of challenges and threats to the country’s sovereignty, Chairman of Sudan’s Transitional Sovereign Council Abdel Fattah al-Burhan said at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

According to the Sudanese leader, during their 70 years of diplomatic ties, the two countries have overcome numerous changes and challenges, but bilateral relations have continued to grow stronger thanks to the political will of the leadership of both states.

"We are grateful for Russia’s support, as it has consistently stood by Sudan, particularly on international platforms, in the face of all the challenges and conspiracies threatening our sovereignty," al-Burhan emphasized.
