Stubb and Store did not coordinate phone talk with Putin with Europeans — Danish PM
Mette Frederiksen said that she is very skeptical about this independent initiative of Norway and Finland
STOCKHOLM, October 27. /TASS/. The phone conversation between Finnish President Alexander Stubb and Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store with Russian leader Vladimir Putin was not coordinated with European allies, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen said.
"I am very skeptical about this independent initiative of Norway and Finland. It is not coordinated with any of us," the DR radio station quoted her as saying.
Earlier, the office of the Finnish leader said that Stubb and Store acted as representatives of their countries, not Europe in a conversation with Putin.
Frederiksen also disagreed with Stubb and Store’s position.
"I really don't understand what these two countries think can be achieved this way. We also clearly emphasized earlier in messages from the rest of Europe that when others go to Moscow alone, for example, it is important that we, Europeans, travel together," she said in an interview with TV 2.
