NEW YORK, October 26. /TASS/. The Ukrainian authorities have nothing to contribute to the negotiation process aimed at resolving the conflict; therefore, Russia will achieve its objectives regardless, Daniel Davis, a retired US Army lieutenant colonel believes.

"The harsh reality is that it doesn’t matter how many sanctions are or are not on Russia: Ukraine already doesn’t have anything to bring to the table for negotiations. Russia will either obtain its requirements via negotiation where Ukraine has to surrender territory and adopt neutrality, or Russia will simply continue the war until it has achieved its desires on the battlefield," Davis wrote on his X (formerly Twitter) account.

He emphasized that, for the Ukrainian authorities, continuing the conflict would, in any scenario, be "much worse than even the ugliest of a diplomatic end entered into willingly."
