MOSCOW, October 26. /TASS/. Ukraine will be unable to restore its industrial sector after the conflict with Russia using its own national budget alone, given the course pursued by the Kiev authorities, Ukrainian political analyst Taras Sidorets told TASS.

According to the analyst, following the 2014 government coup, the Ukrainian leadership adopted a strategy centered on securing financial assistance from Western countries rather than promoting domestic development.

"There is one very significant caveat: these funds will only be provided if Ukraine maintains its ‘anti-Russia’ stance and continues to fight against Russia. A peaceful Ukraine would, of course, receive no Western funding for the restoration of its industry," Sidorets said.

He argued that this policy had left Ukraine’s industrial sector largely devastated. "In August-September 2026, following high-profile statements by Vladimir Zelensky, who announced a 40-day campaign to ‘force Russia into peace,’ and the subsequent launch of strikes against non-military targets inside Russia, Moscow delivered a sufficiently strong and decisive response," he said.

The Russian Defense Ministry has reported an increase in strikes on industrial facilities in Ukraine. According to the ministry, Russian combat drones and missile systems target infrastructure facilities used by the Kiev authorities to support the needs of the Ukrainian armed forces.
