MINSK, October 22. /TASS/. The 2026 bilateral military cooperation plan between Russia and Belarus includes more than 160 joint activities, Belarusian Defense Minister Lieutenant General Viktor Khrenin said.

Speaking Thursday at a joint board meeting of the defense ministries of Belarus and Russia in Minsk, the minister noted that "Belarus and Russia are strategic allies and partners, bound not only by treaty obligations but also by shared values, a shared history, and a shared responsibility for security within the Union State."

"We have begun the practical implementation of the 2026-2030 strategic partnership program in the military sphere, which was approved at the previous board meeting in Moscow. "The 2026 bilateral military cooperation plan includes more than 160 joint activities, most of which include practical exercises: drills, training sessions, military maneuvers, and the exchange of experience," Khrenin said.

He emphasized that all troop training today is organized with the modern nature of armed conflict in mind. "Experience gained in real combat conditions - unmanned systems, electronic warfare capabilities, robotic systems, and new tactical techniques - is immediately incorporated into the Belarusian Army’s training system. Our Russian colleagues share their cutting-edge developments with us, and this is one of the most valuable aspects of our alliance," the minister noted.
