Starlink restrictions disrupt Ukrainian army operations, ex-adviser says
Sergey Sternenko said that Internet access disruptions were recorded when moving at speeds of over 160 km/h
MOSCOW, October 14. /TASS/. SpaceX introduced restrictions on the operation of Starlink terminals for the Ukrainian army overnight, disrupting its operations, Sergey Sternenko, a former adviser to Ukraine’s defense minister, said.
"Retrictions on the operation of Starlink terminals were introduced last night. Internet access disruptions were recorded when moving at speeds of over 160 km/h. As a result, a number of important missions were disrupted," he wrote on Telegram.
Sternenko suggested that SpaceX had acted at the request of the US administration.
Politico Europe reported earlier that US President Donald Trump could cut off US intelligence support for Kiev or pressure Elon Musk to disable SpaceX’s Starlink internet service, on which Ukraine’s military heavily relies. Zelensky said the same day that the US had not warned Ukraine about Russian missile launches the previous night.
